TVBuddy – Smart TV Companion

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using TVBuddy (“TVBuddy”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the app.

For iOS users, these Terms operate alongside Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA):

In the event of any conflict for iOS users, Apple’s Standard EULA shall apply.

2. App Description

TVBuddy is a utility application designed to discover, connect to, and control supported Smart TVs on the same local Wi-Fi network.

Features may include:

  • Remote control functionality
  • Touchpad navigation
  • Media casting (photos, videos, and audio)
  • Voice command control
  • Access to available TV apps (where supported)

Feature availability may vary depending on TV brand, model, operating system, device compatibility, and network conditions.

TVBuddy is not affiliated with or endorsed by any TV manufacturer.

3. Permissions

TVBuddy may request access to:

  • Local Network and Nearby Devices (to discover and connect to TVs)
  • Photos, videos, and media files (for casting)
  • Microphone (for voice commands)

These permissions are used solely to provide app functionality and are not used for advertising purposes.

4. Support & Communication

To use certain features such as in-app support chat, you may be required to provide contact information, including:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Optional mobile number
  • Device or TV information

This information is used to:

  • Respond to support requests
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Send service-related communications

If you opt in, we may also send:

  • Product updates
  • Feature announcements
  • Promotional offers or discounts

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

Support and communication information may be securely stored using trusted third-party infrastructure providers such as Google Firebase.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

TVBuddy may offer premium features through paid subscriptions.

For iOS users:

  • Payments are processed via Apple In-App Purchases
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID account

For Android users:

  • Payments are processed via Google Play Billing
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date
  • Subscription management is handled in your Google Play account

Refunds are handled according to the respective platform’s policies. Pricing and availability may change without notice.

6. User Responsibilities

  • Use TVBuddy only with TVs you own or are authorized to control
  • Use the app in compliance with applicable laws
  • Not attempt unauthorized access to devices or networks

7. Disclaimer

TVBuddy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee:

  • Compatibility with all TV models
  • Continuous or uninterrupted operation
  • Error-free performance

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TVBuddy shall not be liable for:

  • Device, TV, or network malfunctions
  • Connectivity interruptions
  • Data loss
  • Indirect or consequential damages

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
