TVBuddy – Smart TV Companion (“TVBuddy”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates primarily on your local network. Core remote control and media casting features do not require account creation.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is collected and used.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Support & Communication Information

To use the in-app support chat or contact form, users may be required to provide:

• Full name
• Email address
• Mobile number (optional)
• TV brand or model
• Description of the issue

This information is:

• Used to respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
• Used for service-related communications
• Optional for marketing communications (only if you opt in)
• Not required to use core remote and casting features
• Not sold to third parties

Support and communication data may be securely stored using trusted third-party infrastructure providers, such as Google Firebase.

TVBuddy Community (Canny)

TVBuddy uses Canny, a third-party feedback and feature request platform, to allow users to submit suggestions, report issues, and request new features.

To submit feedback through Canny, users are required to sign in using Canny’s authentication system (for example, via email or a supported login method). This login is used solely to associate feedback with a user and to enable communication regarding submitted requests.

When submitting feedback through Canny, the following information may be collected:

• Feedback content
• Email address or account identifier used for login
• Basic technical context related to the feedback

This information is used only to review feedback, respond to requests, and improve TVBuddy’s functionality. Feedback data is not used for advertising and is not shared for marketing purposes.

TVBuddy does not provide public user profiles, social interaction features, or public content sharing between users. Use of Canny is optional and not required to use TVBuddy’s core remote control and casting features.

Marketing Communications

If you choose to receive marketing communications, we may send:

• Product updates
• Feature announcements
• Discount offers
• Promotional messages

You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in communications or by contacting us directly.

Marketing data is not sold, shared with advertising networks, or used for cross-app tracking.

Analytics

TVBuddy may use analytics tools such as Firebase Analytics to understand app performance, diagnose issues, and improve functionality.

Analytics data:

• Is collected in an aggregated and privacy-respecting manner

Location Information

TVBuddy may access approximate location information as required by the Android operating system to enable local network device discovery.

• Is not stored by us
• Is not used to track users
• Is not shared with other users

TVBuddy does not access precise location data.

Local Network, Media & Voice Permissions

TVBuddy may request access to:

• Local Network
• Nearby Devices
• Photos
• Videos
• Audio files
• Microphone

These permissions are used solely to:

• Discover compatible Smart TVs
• Enable media casting
• Support voice command functionality

Media content is processed locally between your device and your TV and is not uploaded, stored, or processed on our servers.

Data Storage & Security

Support and communication information may be stored securely using cloud infrastructure providers such as Google Firebase.

We use industry-standard security measures and encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted between your device and our services.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide support, fulfill communication purposes, and comply with legal obligations.

Data Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at:

Upon verification of your request, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, unless retention is required by law.

Children’s Privacy

TVBuddy is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected with a revised “Last updated” date.
